Basketball Recap: Front Range Christian's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

It was a Battle of the Birds when Front Range Christian challenged Pikes Peak Christian on Saturday. The Front Range Christian Falcons snuck past the Pikes Peak Christian Eagles with a 50-44 win. The victory was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on four straight.

Front Range Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zach Woo, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc to rack up 28 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Woo a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haedan Morton, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and five steals.

Front Range Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why Pikes Peak Christian lost, don't look at Eddie Harmon. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Harmon's afternoon made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Jeremiah Wehner was another key player, putting up seven points and six boards.

Front Range Christian pushed their record up to 7-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Pikes Peak Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

The future could be bright for both Front Range Christian and Pikes Peak Christian: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Front Range Christian will look to extend Clear Creek's seven-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pikes Peak Christian will try to hand Dolores Huerta Prep their eighth-straight loss when the two meet at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
