CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 23) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They pulled ahead with a 22-21 photo finish over the Rockville Rams. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 49-16 loss the last time these two teams met.

Will Davis Jr. and Darren Ghostlaw certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Davis Jr. picked up 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Ghostlaw threw for 151 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 passes. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 55 yards.

CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.7 points over those games. As for Rockville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] will face off against North Branford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockville, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cromwell/Portland at 6:30 p.m. on the 14th.
