Preview: Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks vs. Blountstown Tigers
Port St. Joe has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Blountstown Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Port St. Joe walked away with it. They really took it to the Warriors for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-14 win at home. Port St. Joe might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six contests by 20 points or more this season.
Devin Cuttino continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 152 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Chance Gainer was in the mix too, providing Port St. Joe with three touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Aucilla Christian to a paltry 138 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Port St. Joe's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out nine times before it was all said and done. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Meanwhile, Blountstown won a match that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Sneads 7-6.
Amarion Hover was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown.
Port St. Joe has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Blountstown, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 7-3 record.
