Softball Game Preview: Whiteford Bobcats vs. Tecumseh Indians

Whiteford is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Tecumseh is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bobcats will welcome the Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Whiteford's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Northwood.

Meanwhile, Tecumseh got the win against Dexter on Wednesday by a conclusive 7-0. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Dreadnaughts: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Kennedi Fulton, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Dexter off the board.

On the hitting side, Lauren Kilbarger was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maya Juozapaitis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Whiteford is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Tecumseh, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Everything went Whiteford's way against Tecumseh in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as Whiteford made off with a 12-1 victory. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
