Recap: Windham Whippets vs. Coventry Patriots
The Windham Whippets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 26 points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2023 than the 75-38 stomp they got on the road against Coventry. Windham's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Windham to victory were Hailey Flores and Aniya Jenkins. Flores went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 7 assists, while Jenkins went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 4 assists. The game was Jenkins' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Zoee Robins was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five assists and five steals.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Windham, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for Coventry, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Windham will head out on the road to face off against Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coventry, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Windsor Locks at 6:45 p.m.
