The Medina Valley Panthers will take on the Alexander Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Medina Valley barely beat Laredo LBJ the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Medina Valley never let Laredo LBJ get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Alyssa Montez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kynlee Crisp, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Morgan Castiglione, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Medina Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alexander). They put the hurt on Del Rio with a sharp 14-4 victory on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Like Medina Valley, Alexander also got a great game from a two-way player: Ellie Gonzalez. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Gonzalez has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Alexander got a massive performance out of Mia Rubio, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4. Jazmine Rodriguez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI and one double.
Alexander's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11. As for Medina Valley, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Medina Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Alexander struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Medina Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Alexander in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will Medina Valley repeat their success, or does Alexander have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
