Softball Recap: West Florida Baptist Academy Extends Winning Streak to Seven

While West Florida Baptist Academy put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for East Hill Christian. West Florida Baptist Academy blew past East Hill Christian 16-0. Considering the Conquerors have won five games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

West Florida Baptist Academy got a massive performance out of Cali Ellis, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Ellis a new career-high. Ande Johnson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The victory keeps West Florida Baptist Academy at an undefeated 7-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average this season. As for East Hill Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Florida Baptist Academy will challenge Santa Rosa Christian at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for East Hill Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Laurel Hill at 5:00 p.m. on April 8.
