Basketball Recap: Deuel Takes a Loss

Deuel lost against Sioux Valley back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Deuel Cardinals took a blow against the Sioux Valley Cossacks, falling 72-27. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Cossacks are ranked 11th).

Deuel's defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Sioux Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deuel will welcome Hamlin on Thursday. One thing working in Hamlin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests. As for Sioux Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Parker at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sioux Valley is facing Parker at the right time seeing as Parker is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
