Preview: Piketon Redstreaks vs. Paint Valley Bearcats
The Piketon Redstreaks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Paint Valley Bearcats at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Piketon will be strutting in after a victory while Paint Valley will be coming in after a defeat.
Piketon scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 56-19 victory over Western. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Meanwhile, Paint Valley lost to Huntington on the road by a decisive 51-35 margin on Saturday. Paint Valley has struggled against Huntington recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Paint Valley saw an underclassman step up: Karris Dye scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sophia Stauffer, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Piketon's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Paint Valley, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-18.
Piketon was able to grind out a solid victory over Paint Valley in their previous matchup back in January, winning 42-31. Will Piketon repeat their success, or does Paint Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
