Softball Game Preview: Lone Oak Buffaloes vs. Winnsboro Raiders

The Lone Oak Buffaloes will square off against the Winnsboro Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Lone Oak is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Prairiland 17-1 on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Buffaloes have beaten the Patriots on their field since April 16, 2021.

Meanwhile, while Winnsboro put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Chisum. Everything went Winnsboro's way against Chisum as Winnsboro made off with a 12-0 victory. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Raiders yet this season.

Winnsboro's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lone Oak, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Lone Oak suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Winnsboro in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Lone Oak avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
