Softball Recap: Sussex Academy Drops Season-High Score on First State Military Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sussex Academy). They put the hurt on the First State Military Academy Bulldogs with a sharp 18-1 victory on Friday. While the Seahawks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Sussex Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for First State Military Academy, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Sussex Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-5 defeat against St. Mark's on the 26th. As for First State Military Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Conrad Science on the 25th.
