Basketball Recap: North Putnam Comes Up Short

North Putnam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Edgewood Mustangs, falling 73-44. The Cougars were down 59-32 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Owen Mcgovern was nothing short of spectacular for Edgewood: he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards. Those 26 points gave Mcgovern a new career-high. Carson Huttenlocker was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points.

North Putnam's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Edgewood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

North Putnam wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-40 defeat against Monrovia on the 10th. Edgewood has also already played their next contest, a 67-54 victory against Cascade on the 13th.
