Basketball Recap: Riverside Makes It 15 in a Row at Home

Riverside entered their tilt with Lakeland on Thursday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They took their match with ease, bagging an 80-35 victory over the Lakeland Chiefs. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 26 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Lakeland still got an impressive performance from Dylan Kopa, who posted 17 points and six boards. Cole Tonkin also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Riverside pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.1 points. As for Lakeland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Riverside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 83-45 victory against Notre Dame on the 18th. Lakeland has also already played their next game, a 52-36 defeat against Mid Valley on the 20th.
