Basketball Game Preview: Woodland Wolverines vs. Goose Creek Gators

The Woodland Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Goose Creek Gators at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodland is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Woodland came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point defeat on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Fort Dorchester by a score of 61-59 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Goose Creek faced Gray Collegiate Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Sunday. The game between Goose Creek and Gray Collegiate Academy didn't end well, with Goose Creek falling 59-42. The contest marked the Gators' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Goose Creek, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 12-2 record.

Woodland came out on top in a nail-biter against Goose Creek when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 43-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
