1. Campbell County (Gillette)
2013-14 finish: 26-3
Head coach: Bubba Hladky

No team in the state has been as consistent as the Camels, who have won 13 state championships in the school's history and have won at least 21 games each of the past nine seasons. It will be tougher this year, perhaps, due to the graduation of Cody Kelley, who led the conference in scoring and steals last year. Two other all-conference players have also graduated, however Cale Miessler, a 5-10 guard, returns after averaging 2.0 steals and 2.2 assists last year.

2. Walsh (Casper)
2013-14 finish: 20-6
Head coach: Scott Marietta



The Trojans have come a long way in five years. After winning just one game in 2011, Walsh won 20 games last year and reached the Class 4A state finals before losing to Campbell County. The Trojans return one all-state player in Marcus Nolan and an all-conference pick in Ethan Applegate. Nolan, a 6-1 senior, posted 8.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in conference play last year while Applegate, a 6-4 senior, led the conference with 7.4 rebounds per game.

3. East (Cheyenne)
2013-14 finish: 21-7
Head coach: Jeff Bailey

East had a huge turnaround last year after winning just five games in 2013. Coach Jeff Bailey will try to take the Thunderbirds one step farther this year after finishing in third place last season. Bailey returns two all-state players in Zach McCord and Elijah Oliver. McCord is a 5-9 senior who averaged 9.8 points and 3.6 assists in conference play last year while Oliver is a 6-1 junior who led the team in rebounds.

4. Glenrock
2013-14 finish: 14-10
Head coach: Justin Kidneigh



After finishing in the middle of the pack of the 3A East Conference, Glenrock looks to be improved this year behind the play of a couple of all-conference returning starters. Jordan Millay, a 6-5 center, earned all-state honors last year while averaging 15 points and seven rebounds. He's joined by Tyler Olsen, a 5-9 senior guard, who was among the conference leaders in assists and steals while also averaging 11.1 points per game.

5. Wheatland
2013-14 finish: 22-6
Head coach: Mick Cochran

Wheatland suffered two of its losses at the Class 3A state tournament, where it went 1-2 with a loss in the consolation finals. The Rams return one of the top players in the state, however, in Kendrick Jackson, the son of former NBA player Bobby Jackson. The younger Jackson led the East Conference in scoring at 21 points per game and finished third in rebounding at 8.2. He also averaged 3.7 assists and 2.9 steals to rank in the top five of those two categories.
