Soccer Recap: Copper Canyon Takes a Loss

Copper Canyon came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Aztecs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 40th in Arizona, while the Mustangs are ranked eighth in Arizona).

Copper Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Sunrise Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sunrise Mountain beat Copper Canyon by a score of 3-0 later that day.
