Basketball Recap: Deckerville Drops Highest Score of Season Against Akron-Fairgrove + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Deckerville). They came out on top against the Akron-Fairgrove Vikings by a score of 52-44 on Monday. Deckerville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Salowtiz, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance also gave Salowtiz a new career-high in assists (five). Jesse Kubacki was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.

Deckerville's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Akron-Fairgrove, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Deckerville will take on Caseville in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Deckerville will be up against Caseville's rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Akron-Fairgrove and Mayville will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
