Softball Recap: Bishop Amat Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Bishop Amat won the last time they faced St. Anthony and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lancers put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 14-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.

Samantha Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Mia Arballo was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024. Kayla Johnson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Bishop Amat was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are 12-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Bishop Amat pushed their record up to 15-11 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for St. Anthony, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Bishop Amat will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Saints: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
