Football Recap: Lakota East Skates Past Sycamore with Ease

Lakota East never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Sycamore Aviators 38-0. The result was nothing new for the Thunderhawks, who have now won three matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Ryder Hooks continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 81 yards and one score, while also picking up 62 receiving yards and one touchdown. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 51 yards. Another player making a difference was Nile Knutson, who threw for 169 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes.

Lakota East didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayden Boyd and Hooks. Boyd got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Lakota East has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.5 points on average over those games. As for Sycamore, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, Lakota East will welcome Lakota West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderhawks will need to watch out since the Firebirds have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for Sycamore, they are taking a road trip to challenge Mason at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
