Preview: Caprock Longhorns vs. Tascosa Rebels
Caprock is on a five-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Tascosa a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Caprock Longhorns will take on the Tascosa Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Caprock comes in on a streak of failing to score more than ten points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 45-10, which was the final score in Caprock's tilt against Monterey on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Caprock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 653rd, while Monterey is ranked 235th).
Meanwhile, Tascosa was not the first on the board two weeks ago, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 33-21 victory over Monterey. The victory was just what Tascosa needed coming off of a 42-20 defeat in their prior contest.
Tascosa's win bumped their season record to 2-5 while Caprock's defeat dropped theirs to 1-7.
Caprock came up short against Tascosa in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 34-28. Will Caprock have more luck at home instead of on the road?
