Recap: Reed Raiders vs. Galena Grizzlies
The Reed Raiders waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Galena 83-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Reed's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tj Coulter, who scored 32 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Coulter has scored at least a third of Reed's points. Dominic Williams was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds.
Reed pushed their record up to 15-10 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Galena, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season.
Reed has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Spanish Springs at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Reed knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Spanish Springs likes a good challenge. As for Galena, they will head out on the road to square off against Damonte Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Damonte Ranch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
