It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Warren can now relate to. They fell just short of the Daviess County Panthers by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Courtney Norwood was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 20 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, McLaine Hudson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

South Warren's loss dropped their record down to 34-4. As for Daviess County, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 28-5.

As of now, neither South Warren nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
