Basketball Recap: Schroon Lake Comes Up Short

Schroon Lake lost against Hartford Central two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Schroon Lake Wildcats fell 55-48 to the Hartford Central Tanagers.

Hartford Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cailin Severance, who went 7 for 11 en route to 12 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Audrey Fiske, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Schroon Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Hartford Central, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Schroon Lake will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Placid at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Hartford Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fort Ann at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hartford Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Fort Ann likes a good challenge.
