 After two games on the road, Cannon is heading back home. They will take on the West Cabarrus Wolverines at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
 Cannon's 19-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell victim to a  rough 18-3 loss at the hands of High Point Christian Academy  on Thursday.
 Cannon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Layla Wagner, who  went 2-for-3 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Olivia McLaughlin, who  went 2-for-2 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, sadly, West Cabarrus is still looking for their first win of the season after five  contests. They suffered a  tough 17-1 defeat at the hands of Lake Norman  on Tuesday.
 Cannon's loss was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for West Cabarrus, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
West Cabarrus' pitching crew has a tough task ahead of them:  Cannon hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .314. It's a different story for West Cabarrus, though, as  they've  only  averaged .200. Will they be able to contain Cannon's hitters?
 Cannon took their  victory against West Cabarrus  in their previous matchup  back in March of 2023 by a conclusive  8-2. Will Cannon repeat their success,  or does  West Cabarrus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
