Basketball Recap: Dougherty Finds Playoff Glory Versus Troup County

It's playoff time, and Dougherty had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Troup County Tigers by a score of 71-59 on Wednesday.

Jawuan Jinks Jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9-for-13 to rack up 27 points along with seven boards and five assists. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Kaleke Singletary-Jinks was another key player, putting up ten points and seven assists.

Dougherty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Dougherty's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points over those games. As for Troup County, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.

Coming up, Dougherty will venture away from home to face off against Calhoun at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Calhoun will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Dougherty surely won't give up without a fight. Troup County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
