Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Mattoon's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Mattoon posted their closest win since September 13th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Armstrong Trojans 2-1.

Zion Johnson paced Mattoon's offense, picking up eight kills. Johnson got some help from Khloe Hall and her 20 assists. Hall was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Mattoon has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-14 record this season. As for Armstrong, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Coincidentally, Mattoon and Armstrong will both be playing Normal University the next time they take the court. The Greenwave will head out to face the Pioneers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Trojans will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
