Baseball Recap: Melrose Wins Going Away Against Dora

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Melrose). They put the hurt on the Dora Coyotes with a sharp 22-6 victory on Thursday. With that win, the Buffaloes brought their scoring average up to 9 runs per game.

Briar Larson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Roybal, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Melrose was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

Melrose's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Dora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Melrose beat Dora by a score of 15-1 later that day.
