Softball Recap: Maroa-Forsyth Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Maroa-Forsyth nor Williamsville made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Trojans lost 8-1 to the Bullets. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Danni Hovey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Maroa-Forsyth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Ravenscraft, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Maroa-Forsyth dropped their record down to 9-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Williamsville, they moved to 10-7 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maroa-Forsyth will welcome Argenta-Oreana at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Williamsville, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central at 4:30 p.m.
