Football Recap: Godley Piles Up the Points Against Life Waxahachie

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stephenville, Godley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed past the Life Waxahachie Mustangs to the tune of 48-7. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Godley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adam Pempsell, who rushed for 186 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also caught one score. With that strong performance, Pempsell is now averaging an impressive 116.2 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Ryder Papasan, who rushed for 67 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.

Godley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Life Waxahachie, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coming up, Godley will take on Mineral Wells at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Life Waxahachie, they will challenge Wills Point at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.75 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
