Basketball Recap: Herington's Losing Streak Snapped at Ten Games

Herington had lost ten straight headed into Friday's game, but Mason Mortensen didn't let it get to 11. The Herington Railroaders walked away with a 57-45 win over the Peabody-Burns Warriors on Friday thanks in part to Mortensen, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Herington's points.

Another player making a difference was David Dallinga, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. Those 11 points gave him a new career-high.

Herington's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-5. As for Peabody-Burns, their record is now 1-3.

Herington will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Little River at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Peabody-Burns also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Pike Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
