Roosevelt and Sunnyside pushed the score to 44-22 the last time they played Sunnyside, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Rough Riders never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. Those 19 points were actually the fewest the Rough Riders have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Roosevelt pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.8 points on average over those games. As for Sunnyside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Roosevelt is set to square off against their familiar foe McLane at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Rough Riders 7.8, the Highlanders 3.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Sunnyside will challenge rival Hoover at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Johnathan Diaz and Cam Mobley.
