Softball Game Preview: Hopi Bruins vs. Tuba City Warriors

Hopi is 1-9 against Tuba City since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bruins will challenge the Warriors at 1:00 p.m. Hopi has given up an average of 18.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hopi is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Round Valley, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bruins' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Tuba City and Ganado have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Warriors lost 16-3 to the Hornets. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Tuba City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jailynn Acothley, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-2.

Hopi's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Tuba City, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Hopi might still be hurting after the 13-1 defeat they got from Tuba City when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
