Basketball Recap: Winterset Takes a Loss

Winterset lost against Ballard back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Winterset Huskies took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ballard Bombers. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Bombers are ranked 13th).

Winterset's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Ballard, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.

Winterset does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ballard, they will head out on the road to face off against Dallas Center-Grimes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Dallas Center-Grimes has won four straight at home, while Ballard won nine straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
