Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Paladins vs. Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Saints
The Pinecrest Academy Paladins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Johnson Ferry Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Paladins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joe Frain, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds. Jake Bohn was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Pinecrest Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinecrest Academy will face off against the at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cornerstone Prep Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three matches. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherokee Christian will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
