Basketball Recap: San Fernando Valley Academy Comes Up Short

In Tuesday's Canine Competition, San Fernando Valley Academy didn't have enough. They lost 83-57 to the Calabasas Coyotes on Tuesday. The loss leaves the Huskies still looking for their first win of the season.

Despite the defeat, San Fernando Valley Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Success Coupet shot 50% from the field to rack up 30 points along with seven boards and three blocks. That was a full 52.6% of the Huskies' points, marking the third time in a row Coupet has posted more than a third of the team's points. Dellon Corcios was another key player, putting up 13 points.

San Fernando Valley Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Calabasas, they pushed their record up to 2-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Fernando Valley Academy will take on Newbury Park Adventist at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calabasas, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Shalhevet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
