Baseball Recap: El Diamante's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

El Diamante won the last time they faced Monache and things went their way on Tuesday too. The El Diamante Miners walked away with a 7-2 win over the Monache Marauders. The victory was some much needed relief for the Miners as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Colin Horton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Troy Loftin and Noah Pena did most of the damage at the plate: Loftin scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4, while Pena scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Loftin has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kalob Shade, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

El Diamante always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monache only posted an OBP of .276.

El Diamante's record now sits at 3-4-1. As for Monache, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

El Diamante will have a chance to go back-to-back against Monache: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
