Volleyball Recap: Flagstaff Starts Season with Win Against Thunderbird

Flagstaff had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Thunderbird Titans. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won four in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15, 25-19.

Brynn Hagerman had an outrageously good game as she had 17 digs and three aces. What's more, she posted three assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Naleski, who had 15 assists and three digs.

When it comes to explaining why Thunderbird lost, don't look at Ema-Lee Burke. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and two assists. Burke is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Flagstaff wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Arcadia on the 28th. As for Thunderbird, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Eastmark on the 28th.
