Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. John walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Gonzaga Eagles on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won 21 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

St. John's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 28-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Gonzaga, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-13.

Looking ahead, St. John's will square off against Paul VI at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cadets 1.8, the Panthers 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Gonzaga does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
