Spanish Springs won the last time they faced McQueen and things went their way  on Thursday too. The Cougars put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp  3-0 victory. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Cougars.
 While Spanish Springs won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the  second set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-22,  25-8.
 Madi Long paced Spanish Springs' offense, picking up 13 kills. Long got some help from  AJ Robinson and her 24 assists.  Meleana Espinola controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
 Despite the  loss, McQueen had strong showings from  Nya Lagrone, who  had 12  digs and two  aces, and  Madi Brenner, who  had nine  digs. Lagrone is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's  played.
Spanish Springs' win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for McQueen, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.
 Spanish Springs and McQueen will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next  matchups. The next time the Cougars see the court they'll take on Hug  at 6:00  p.m.  on  the 14th. As for McQueen, their break will end when they face Truckee  at 6:00  p.m.  on  the 14th.
