Volleyball Recap: Makenzie Weiss and Avery Rolfe Secure Win for Collegiate

Collegiate had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt St. Anne's-Belfield on Friday. The Cougars blew past the Saints 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

One reason for the win was Collegiate's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-13.

Leading Collegiate to victory were Avery Rolfe and Makenzie Weiss. Rolfe had five digs and four aces, while Weiss had 20 assists and two aces. Weiss is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 14 games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Collegiate was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 14 consecutive matches.

Collegiate's record is now 15-7. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.
