Softball Recap: Montpelier Locomotives vs. Edgerton Bulldogs
Saturday just wasn't the day for Montpelier's offense. They fell victim to a tough 8-0 loss at the hands of the Edgerton Bulldogs on Saturday. Montpelier has not had much luck with Edgerton recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Montpelier saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lyla Mahan, who went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a double.
Montpelier's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Edgerton, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montpelier will take on Fairview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Edgerton, they will be playing at home against North Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Edgerton is facing North Central at the right time seeing as North Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
