Hernando has gone 9-1 against Southaven recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Hernando Tigers will face off against the Southaven Chargers at 5:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Hernando is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Oxford, who was ranked seventh at the time (Hernando was ranked 17th). Hernando fell just short of Oxford by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of Rosa Ibarra, who's now up to ten this season.

Meanwhile, Southaven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 7-0 to DeSoto Central.

Southaven's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Hernando, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5-1.

Everything went Hernando's way against Southaven in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Hernando made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hernando since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
