Softball Recap: Clinton Dragons vs. Gibbs Eagles
Clinton lost against Gibbs back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Clinton Dragons took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gibbs Eagles.
For Gibbs' part, Lacey Keck made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Keck was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Malyiah Smith was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Dakota Large was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Clinton now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Gibbs, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clinton will take on Anderson County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
