Recap: Spring Grove Lions vs. Houston Hurricanes

The Spring Grove Lions stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They breezed by Houston on the road to the tune of 82-34. Spring Grove's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Houston's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Wedl, who scored seven points along with three blocks. Wedl is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played.

Houston struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Spring Grove's victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.5 points. As for Houston, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Spring Grove will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Kingsland at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. Kingsland is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Houston, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chatfield at 7:15 p.m. Chatfield has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14.
