Baseball Recap: Maricopa Takes a Loss

Maricopa lost against Catalina Foothills last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Rams fell 5-1 to the Falcons. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maricopa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Travis Varela, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Maricopa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Catalina Foothills, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Looking ahead, Maricopa will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain Pointe at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams are facing the Pride at the right time seeing as the Pride are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Catalina Foothills, they will venture away from home to take on Vista Grande at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: the Spartans will have lost six straight heading into Friday's matchup.
