Laney faced South Brunswick in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Buccaneers skirted past the Cougars 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Buccaneers as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Layla Carr was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Laney's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for South Brunswick, their defeat ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-2.
Looking ahead, Laney will square off against Ashley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Brunswick, they will face off against Atlantic Collegiate Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
