Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Neshannock's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

While Neshannock's win against New Brighton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lancers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Lions on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 on Monday.

Neshannock saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Neshannock is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for New Brighton, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neshannock will head out to square off against Hickory at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Brighton, they will venture away from home to take on Bethlehem Center at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
