Basketball Game Preview: Oak Hill Golden Eagles vs. Lapel Bulldogs

The Oak Hill Golden Eagles will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Lapel Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oak Hill is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Peru. The Golden Eagles walked away with a 53-44 victory over the Tigers on Friday.

Oak Hill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brianna Dailey, who went 7-for-9 en route to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. That's the most blocks Dailey has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kora Pond, who earned 11 points and four steals.

Oak Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peru only racked up seven.

Meanwhile, Lapel put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Anderson by a score of 43-34.

Oak Hill beat Lapel 47-36 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Bulldogs' Laniah Wills, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 11 boards. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Golden Eagles still be able to contain Wills? There's only one way to find out.
