Mancos piles up the points against Telluride

Make it three blowout wins for the Mancos Bluejays this season. They took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-13 victory over Telluride. That looming 55-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Mancos yet this season.

Mancos was led to victory by Quincy Montoya and Claire Goodwin. Montoya scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists, while Goodwin scored 26 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Montoya pulled down eight or more rebounds. Teya Yeomans was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Telluride struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mancos racked up 17 assists.

Mancos' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for Telluride, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Mancos will be playing in front of their home fans against Dolores at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dolores has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for Telluride, they will head out on the road to face off against Nucla at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Nucla has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
