Basketball Recap: Triton Trojans vs. Argos Dragons

The Triton Trojans lost to the Argos Dragons back in March of 2023, but the Triton Trojans didn't allow the Argos Dragons the same satisfaction on Thursday. Triton strolled past the Dragons with points to spare, taking the game 59-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Triton.

Despite the loss, Argos had strong showings from Sean Richard, who scored 18 points, and Luke Stults, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That was a full 40% of Argos' points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Argos struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Triton's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Argos, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Triton will face off against the Comets at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Caston knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully the Trojans like a good challenge. As for Argos, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs & Fillies at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Kouts will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
